Difusão de veículos autônomos sob incerteza em cenários nacionais e regionais no Brasil

Resumo

A transição global para a mobilidade com veículos automatizados e autônomos (VAs) representa um desafio para o planejamento de transportes, exigindo a análise de cenários de introdução e disseminação na frota. Pesquisas internacionais indicam longos períodos de transição e incertezas quanto à adoção plena de VAs, devido a barreiras como custos adicionais, questões de segurança e coexistência com veículos tradicionais. No Brasil, a projeção e os cenários de introdução e disseminação de VAs na frota circulante são temas incipientes. Este artigo apresenta uma análise de cenários de introdução e disseminação de VAs na frota brasileira de automóveis ao longo das próximas décadas. Propõe-se um modelo baseado na projeção de vendas de novos veículos e a disponibilidade de tecnologias de automação no mercado nacional. Os resultados indicam que a participação de VAs na frota brasileira será gradual e de longo prazo. Nos cenários mais favoráveis, as simulações indicam que veículos totalmente autônomos não devem ultrapassar 50% da frota circulante do Brasil até 2060, prevendo a coexistência de diferentes níveis de automação. Essas projeções reforçam a necessidade de planejamento estratégico de longo prazo para a transição veicular no país, com desafios regulatórios e de infraestrutura inerentes a um cenário de frota mista.
